Children to Young Families Pastor

An exciting opportunity exists for a pioneering Children to Young Families Pastor (Part-Time) to join the Ministry Team at Northern Community Church of Christ in vibrant Preston, Victoria.

Northern Community Church of Christ (NCCC) commenced in 1999 through the amalgamation of four churches. Since that time, NCCC has at its heart a commitment to explore meaningful ways to engage with its surrounding community. The newly created role of Minister for Children to Young Families will continue to shape our missional heart for the community.

Essential to this role will be a demonstrable experience in Children to Young Families ministry or the equivalent; a pioneering spirit with the ability to think missionally about the community and contextualise ministry. As an integral part of the Ministry Team, you will have the opportunity to prayerfully bring recommendations to the Ministry Team leader on engagement opportunity with Children to Young Families in the Darebin Community.

You will serve in a flexible ministry space up to 4 days per week, remunerated according to the Churches of Christ Victoria and Tasmania recommendations.


Administration Supervisor

CareWorks Administration Supervisor with MYOB Experience (Part-Time 2 days [10hrs] per week)

An exciting opportunity exists for an Administration Supervisor to join the Team at Northern Community CareWorks Ltd in vibrant Preston, Victoria.

Northern Community Church of Christ (NCCC) commenced in 1999 through the amalgamation of four churches. Since that time, NCCC has at its heart a commitment to explore meaningful ways to engage with its surrounding community. Northern Community CareWorks Ltd (NCC) is the community arm of Northern and currently hosts five activities providing training for job seekers, practical community service and creates a wide range of site-made products. The two CareWorks Op Shops are well known in the area and are a fantastic means of supporting the community through giving pre-loved products a new home.

Essential to this role will be a demonstrable experience in the administration and MYOB; a commitment to best practice in the oversight and operation of the office and the ability to supervise diverse teams in meeting the administrative requirements in a dynamic space. As an integral part of the CareWorks Team, you (along with the Office Manager) will have the opportunity to bring recommendations to the CareWorks Manager and work towards the successful running of the office and training of its workers. You will work 2 days (Thursdays and Fridays), normally 10 hrs per week, and be asked to cover other days in the office as required.

Transport & Property Maintenance

CareWorks Transport and Property Maintenance Supervisor (Part-Time 4.5 days per week)

An exciting opportunity exists for a Transport and Property Maintenance Supervisor to join the Team at Northern Community CareWorks Ltd in vibrant Preston, Victoria.

Northern Community Church of Christ (NCCC) commenced in 1999 through the amalgamation of four churches. Since that time, NCCC has at its heart a commitment to explore meaningful ways to engage with its surrounding community. Northern Community CareWorks Ltd (NCC) is the community arm of Northern and currently hosts five activities providing training for job seekers, practical community service and creates a wide range of site-made products. The CareWorks Op Shop is well known in the area and are a fantastic means of supporting the community through giving pre-loved products a new home. To many in the community, you will be the primary representative of Northern Community CareWorks and the great things we achieve through your role.

Essential to this role will be a demonstrable experience as a delivery driver/furniture removalist with good manual handling ability; experience in property maintenance with attention to detail in general handyman duties; mechanical skills; and the ability to supervise diverse teams in meeting the various requirements of a dynamic space. As an integral part of the CareWorks Team, you (along with the Op-Shop Manager) will have the opportunity to bring recommendations to the CareWorks Manager and work towards the successful running of the Op-Shop delivery and pickups, and property maintenance. The CareWorks Transport and Property Maintenance Supervisor is to explore future potential for the development of a financially sustainable social enterprise through the workshop which can generate sufficient income to support a Work for the Dole Supervisor position for 25 hrs per week. Skills in small business, carpentry or successful social enterprise development would therefore be favourable.

You will work 4.5 days (Monday to Fridays), normally 34 hrs per week.
